Support local gardens with a green burial plot

The Mounds Park Community Garden has long been a space for growth, nourishment, and community connection. Now, we’re deepening that connection by offering a new way to give back to the land—green burial plots for residents of Dayton’s Bluff who wish to rest in one of the most beautiful spaces in Saint Paul.

Green burials are an eco-friendly, natural alternative to conventional burial practices. Without embalming chemicals, concrete vaults, or metal caskets, the body is returned directly to the earth, enriching the soil and supporting local plant life for generations to come. This process aligns with the principles of sustainability, honoring the natural cycle of life while preserving the beauty of the land.

For those who have cherished Mounds Park and its surrounding gardens, this offering provides a meaningful way to remain a part of the community, even after passing. The garden will serve as both a place of remembrance and renewal, ensuring that those buried here continue to nourish the land and future generations of gardeners, just as they may have in life.

We know that many community members are also interested in green burial options for their pets. While we are working to make this a possibility, we have encountered a permitting roadblock with the City of Saint Paul. We will continue to explore options and keep the community updated on any progress.
